During the summer I was able to finish the work on the front end so now it's all ready for the engine. When that's finished. Which will be over the winter and it'll be running in Q1 2012. Well that's my plan anyway and actually the hardest work is out of the way.
Here's a few pictures of the engine bay now:

Project Whitey was cancelled last year after a lot of consideration. The shell really is too rotten for me to get sorted. So any usable parts will be available for use on Project Whiter. But more on that later.
It's a shame as I really wanted to get the project finished.

Project Whiter update (only a year late!)

It's just over a year already since I collected the new shell from Moff at TheMoffShop. In a year not a lot's happened on the project, well, not a lot to show for it anyway.
Here's a shot showing the previous repair to the inner wing. It's had at least one shunt at the front as both inner wings are repaired.
I took the front suspension and sub-frame off with the intention of cleaning it all up and fitting new bushes. As funds have been limited i've not been able to do all of the bushes, or get everything powder coated that I wanted to, but it is all cleaned up, painted, powder coated, re-bushed and re-assembled now.
Here's the sub-frame and steering rack after a refurb:

While all of the front hardware was off I could then concentrate on the rust at the front end and get it painted ready for the front end going back on.
Here's a few pictures of the process:
Stripping the rusty ares back to bare metal...

And after treating the rust and repainting:
I sent the front top arms and uprights off to Serious Performance Autos in Eastbourne to have new poly bushes and adjustable top bushes fitted and all powder coated. They all came back looking like new and are now back on the car:
The shocks are the old ones and will be replaced...
Possibly more to come before the weather turns too cold to work on her.

Petrol's just gone up (again) and will continue to do so and VAT goes up tomorrow.
Great, we'll be even more strapped this year then.
I can feel a certain unfinished project hanging by a very fine thread and i'm just waiting for the break.
Can you tell i'm a teeny but FUCKED OFF right now??
